If a customer must meet a buyer or seller, we advise you do so in a public place in daylight – and to take a friend. If anything bad or suspicious happens, get in touch with us straight away. If someone’s breaking our rules and a customer reports them, we can block them and delete their product or service listings. If it’s a very serious issue, we encourage customers to call the police.
Safety tips for buyers
>> We don't encourage moving a purchase off DukaShops but if you must meet the seller in person – and do take a friend, check the product and make sure you are satisfied with it before you make a payment.
>> Avoid dodgy payment links and don’t click on suspicious links in emails, please report any emails claiming to offer such services.
>> We at DukaShops advise buyers not to make advance payments/deposits off DukaShops without conducting full due diligence. We cannot be held liable for cases of fraud, as DukaShops is a portal or platform solution for both sellers and buyers or customers.
>> If you didn't use DukaShops checkout to complete the purchase on DukaShops then it won't show up in your Purchase history, and you aren't covered by the DukaShops Money Back Guarantee. Always complete your transactions on DukaShops to ensure you're covered by our protection policies. When a transaction that started out on DukaShops is completed outside of the DukaShops platform, the buyer and seller are no longer covered by DukaShops protection programs and the DukaShops Money Back Guarantee. As such, contacting another DukaShops member to discuss moving a purchase off DukaShops creates a risk of fraud, and is not permitted. If a seller asks you to complete a transaction in another way, please contact us or report that seller.
Safety tips for sellers
>> We don't encourage moving a purchase off DukaShops but if you must do and someone’s paying cash, make sure you check the banknotes are real.
>> We don't encourage moving a purchase off DukaShops but if you must do and a buyer says they’ve sent you too much money then asks for the surplus back, it’s probably a scam. Ask your bank if any money has gone in.
